Nike SB & Place Mag made us come out to Munich for a get-together with the Shop Teams/Crews of Munich’s SHRN and Stuttgarts Arrow & Beast. Consisting of Sami Harithi, Colin McLean, Giorgi Armani, Mario Ungerer, Joscha Aicher, Yaw Kyeremeh, and Erik Müller we shot a clip and did a little zine for the launch of the Nike SB HO’15 collection.
It’s summertime in Berlin…and what a rare and unpredictable season that is! Once the sun shines, there is nothing better to do than go out skateboarding, have a BBQ in one of the many parks and hang out by a lake or the River Spree to escape the hot city streets.
Our river – the Spree – runs throughout Berlin, connecting different areas such as the refined government district, the historical Museum Island and Kreuzberg with its relaxed party vibe. Each area is characterized by different skate spots. You’ll experience a rare and beautiful sight if you head to the Spree at sunset. A kaleidoscope of colors dance and shimmer on the river’s gentle waves. Normally a natural occurrence, it’s often enhanced due to the small spills of oil from the boats that ride daily along the Spree.
This colorful display provides the inspiration for the Civilist x Nike SB Spree Pack. Two of the most classic SBs – The Zoom Stefan Janoski CNVS and the Stefan Janoski Max – have been styled in a black upper featuring a subtle tonal print that captures the colors and sparkles of light seen on the surface of the Spree at sunset
For the launch of our colaboration, we had our own little island in the middle of the Spree. Our friends, family, Nike SB teamriders and press were invited to an exclusive boat ride straight to the venue. To our surprise Stefan Janoski showed up and came along as well!
What happened on the island, stays on the island….
